Austria’s capital community volunteers deliver fact-based drug education with young people across the city

Vienna — 23 December 2025 — Volunteers linked to “A Drug-Free World” Austria have expanded outreach in Vienna, speaking with youth, families and educators through public information points and event-based activities. The Vienna effort is led by Gabriele Toker, a local organiser, the initiative relies on “Truth About Drugs” materials to provide clear information on commonly abused substances, including the ongoing debate around cannabis, described by public monitoring bodies as the most widely used illicit drug in Europe. According to organisers, the Vienna activities aim to reach teenagers early, including at large public gatherings such as the Donauinselfest, while also supporting teachers seeking prevention tools for schools.
